Miss International 2017
Sao Yoon Wadi Oo, the crowned queen of MMI 2017, earned her chance to represent Myanmar at the Miss International 2017 event in Japan, on her first attempt at a beauty pageant. Having released 3 songs, Wati is currently starring in two movies (“Hit Tine”, “Lu Gyi Lu Kaung Myar”). Prior to her sweet and sudden success, Wati founded and managed her own restaurant in Aung Ban, However, her passions always lay in becoming a versatile artist in the entertainment world. Wati believes the key to success is to be diligent and sincere, and continues to work hard, hoping to learn something new everyday from people around her. Wati has worked with charity organizations while helping out with donating porridge to patients in the hospitals. She also hopes to campaign against child sexual abuse and make contributions in parts of the society that are in need. In her free time, Wati likes to watch movies, read books and spend time with her friends and family who bring out the hidden comedian underneath her calm exterior.
2nd Runner Up
She is 20-year-old, Burmese girl from Yangon. She was born on August 25th, 1996, and was raised in the largest city Myanmar, Yangon. After graduating from one of the best high schools in Yangon, she is attending Final year of bachelor degree at East Yangon University. Her specialization is English language. She is a bilingual. She can speak English and Burmese very well. She is volunteering as an English teacher at her local church.
Miss Popular
Soe Yadanar Htun, 22, is in her 2nd Year studying Myanmar Studies at Dagon University. Having successfully landed the Title Award, ‘Miss Popular,’ during the MMI 2017 event, Soe Yadanar has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a model and an actress. Singing and cooking are her biggest hobbies. Her role model is Daw Aung San Su Kyi and Soe Yadanar is greatly motivated to show Myanmar culture to the world. She has also volunteered to help the war victims in Kachin State — an accomplishment that she’s proudest of.
Miss Congeniality
May Li Seng Aung, a 4th Year Zoology student from Myitktyina University, is now living her dream as a photo model in the rapidly growing entertainment industry. As a testament to her warm and bright personality, May had landed the ‘Miss Congeniality’ Title award in the MMI 2017 event. Her other passions lie in dancing, singing and volunteering for community service. Football and volleyball are her favorite pastimes. Although life under the public eye can be overwhelming sometimes, May tries to focus on spreading love and meeting new people along her journey.
Miss Photogenic
Pan Pan, a 22 years old young entrepreneur, graduated with a B.A in English from Dagon University and manages her own business. With her impeccable posture and poise, Pan Pan had become a favorite of renowned photographers, landing her the ‘Miss Photogenic’ Title award during the MMI 2017 event. She enjoys learning new subjects and has a broad range of interests in dancing, travelling and reading. Growing up with aspirations of becoming a professional tour guide, her drive for success now comes from being in front of the camera.
